Dinner Time!

The contents of my Christmas dinner on the 25th December. Very yummy... the speciality was apple and nut stuffing as well as the home made cranberry sauce, then some plum pudding for dessert!

Colour Pencil

The cranberry sauce is cooking, the fire is lit, the family are all watching a movie, and I'm sitting on the computer updating my blog - need to get off! Before I go, here is a quick colour pencil drawing from the decorated candle I made yesterday using lots of greenery from the garden.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!

Tweet Tweet!

A little drawing I made a few nights ago, I scanned the drawing in and coloured it in on Photoshop. 'Have a chirpy Christmas everyone!'

Untold Story

A couple of images from the project I'm currently working on at uni, the 'untold' story of Gary the lorry driver... more drawings to follow!

Night Time Running

I haven't been able to go running as much as I would have liked to during the past two weeks due to the huge amount of coursework that has been gradually piling up... but as of Monday I'll be back!
This is a really simple and quick drawing using a wash of paint, some magazines and the easiest tool on Paint possible! You can see the Law Hill, mist over the Tay Bridge and the route I take from the red flats (where I live) through town.

Mmmmm!

What I ate on Monday 5th November.. Sushi, chocolate, yoghurt, fruit, sunflower seeds, soup and korma with some salad - yum!

Windows

It's getting towards that time when I begin to get really excited about Christmas, and start wanting to be back home in Northern Ireland... Only a couple more weeks to go! Can't wait to be looking out of the windows in my kitchen and this time be seeing ..snow??!

Phoenix Swimming Pool

I've been doing a bit of swimming recently, and have been reminiscing about swimming with my sister in our local primary school pool, spending endless hours playing 'throw the stone' (the BEST game ever), making synchronised routines, racing and gossiping about boys.

Cold Summer

Here is a quick collage I made over the summer, inspired by a small collection of things: the Olympics this year, the coast in Northern Ireland (swimming in the water - freezing!), things like ice cream that was too cold to eat, but it was summer so we ate it anyway.

Who Am I?

A recent entry I put together for an art competition with the theme of 'Who Am I?'
I walked about the streets of Dundee, taking shots of changing pavements before me; I compiled the different images into a life cycle, ending with the tiny dead bird and an arrow, signifying death and questioning what comes after we die.

6.7 billion disappear behind me, no looking back

flicker of sunlight through iron cast railings

 whispering through autumn leaves

 'I Am That I Am'

  clouds charge on

 heart pounding

 feet aching

 salty lips

 breathe

  I Am

Owl Time

Some cute owls I made from toilet paper holders and paint... their new home is now sitting in a little row above my bed! Great company.

The True Italy?

Photo's from the south of Italy - Naples. A poorer, grittier area than any other parts we visited, but very much the 'real' Italy; sweltering heat, dust, cars honking their horns, huge doughy pizza's, ancient buildings with paint peeling walls, cafes' scattered down narrow streets - a hive of local activity everywhere and (not including us, of course) not a tourist in sight!

A Journey through Culture and Time

Here I have created a magazine spread  for my 'Journeys' project, where I looked at 'A Journey Through Culture and Time'. I combined collage and drawing to create six individual pages starting with the Victorian Era, moving through to Japonism, British 1920's, Hollywood 1960's, and lastly, a double page spread of culture within Africa.
I love cutting images/text from magazines, photos and newspaper, and playing around with bright colours and textures to create visually exciting and intriguing collages!
