Summer Birdy Collages

Being a typical student, I have oodles of time to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING right now. So, I have decided to make the most of my free time and create some A5 sized collages to then frame and (try to!) sell. Here are a few of my favourite:

The Very Best!

There are not many things better than spending a lazy Sunday afternoon drinking tea, eating chocolate, listening to great music and creating a little bit of art! With 'The Very Best' band as inspiration, I created a poster/album cover for them, using collage and a healthy amount of good old Photoshop.
The result:

Runaway Foods!

Some food escaped from my cupboard and fridge today... they're a bit of an odd bunch.

Easy as ABC

Not much I can say about this one... just a nice colourful alphabet really!

Easter in Granada

Some shots from my recent visit to Granada, Spain, where my sister lives. It was a beautiful place, made even better by the sun which was clearly prepared for my arrival!

Montage

A recent uni project was to digitally create a number of montages expressing emotions which were picked at random. I got 'depressed', 'nervous' and 'fearful', and these are the final images I came up with:

Nutella!

A piece from my latest uni drawing project... that's real Nutella I used too (very hard to part with, but what can I say, I sacrifice a lot for my art!) I can get through a tub a night of this stuff!

Mr. No Name

Drew this.. creature... out of boredom ages ago, but forgot about him and I think it's about time he got a place on my blog!

What should I call him??

Dark Room Photography

I have just finished my 'artists book' project, which involved telling some sort of story using old school photography, developing film using various chemicals and then using a darkroom to expose paper to light and create images.

Here are two examples of the many photos I have taken and developed over the past few weeks. My favourite photo is the skate park; the shoes dangling from the tree, graffiti on the wall and scattered snow around a desolate bench creating an intriguing image.

Another of my favourites -

Walk down the fields

Being back in a city makes me think of the quietness of home, and the walk my dad and I took through the fields leading on from our back garden one late afternoon after New Year.

I like how the colours, patterns and contours of the fields are so similar to the texture and colours of my dad's clothes; how the horizon runs along with the collar on dad's shirt and his head seems to merge into the sky...

Dinner Time!

The contents of my Christmas dinner on the 25th December. Very yummy... the speciality was apple and nut stuffing as well as the home made cranberry sauce, then some plum pudding for dessert!

Colour Pencil

The cranberry sauce is cooking, the fire is lit, the family are all watching a movie, and I'm sitting on the computer updating my blog - need to get off! Before I go, here is a quick colour pencil drawing from the decorated candle I made yesterday using lots of greenery from the garden.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!

Tweet Tweet!

A little drawing I made a few nights ago, I scanned the drawing in and coloured it in on Photoshop. 'Have a chirpy Christmas everyone!'
